Monica Lewinsky, social activist and the former White House intern embroiled in the Clinton scandal, will make a guest appearance at Saint Louis University presented by their Great Issues Committee on Tuesday, December 3rd. Students who planned the event, hope to raise awareness about “resiliency in social environment” from her appearance on campus.
At one time a politically controversial figure, Lewinsky has since become a best-selling author and an activist for equality in the workplace. A politically involved junior at Saint Louis, Grace Snider, believes the event will enlighten SLU students to thinking more openly about public shame and stimulate debate on social issues.
“People think of just her relationship with Bill Clinton. But with SLU she will bring a new perspective of how to deal with shame and how to deal with this “bad reputation”. And I think it will be good to change a lot of hearts and minds of the students here,” said Snider.
Monica Lewinsky will be presenting December 3rd at the SLU Busch Student Center’s Wool Ballrooms and doors open for the event at 6:30pm. For more information, visit SLU’s Great Issues Committee’s Facebook.
