Saint Louis University students saw first hand the radio newsroom, engineering center, and recording studio where St. Louis Public Radio finds it sound. From learning about the lineup for the talk show, “St. Louis on the Air,” to the importance of learning audio restoration, 18 journalism students caught a glimpse of a future in broadcast news.
General Assignment and Arts reporter, Chad Davis, advises students, “Starting off in journalism might not always be the start you thought.” The panel provided tips to students who are searching for internship opportunities like taking initiative in the workplace and fully understanding the issues you are reporting on.
St. Louis Public Radio is a non-profit organization providing local and national news through their affiliation with NPR. Their St. Louis station, KWMU-1 90.7, provides an in depth look at local issues and prompts community engagement with the media.
